The Challenge<\/h1>\n

Mexico is home to one of the most sophisticated community forest management systems in the world \u2014 and yet the country barely builds with wood. Millions of hectares of productive forest exist alongside a construction sector that often imports standardized lumber from the US and others because domestic supply chains are fragmented, under-documented, and structurally disconnected. The idea of fully ethical, traceable domestic wood feels, to many, like an impossible task.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Liga de la Madera<\/span><\/a> formed to take that challenge on: a coalition of architects, engineers, producers, researchers, and designers who believe Mexico’s forests could be central to the country’s climate future \u2014 if the right connections are made, and the hard questions aren’t avoided.<\/span><\/p>\n

NUESTRO ENFOQUE<\/h1>\n

A lo largo de meses de colaboraci\u00f3n con Isla Urbana, instituciones gubernamentales como el Instituto Mexicano de Tecnolog\u00eda del Agua (IMTA) y aliados comunitarios, articulamos dise\u00f1o t\u00e9cnico innovador, coordinaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y un profundo entendimiento cultural.<\/span><\/p>\n

No solo redactamos una propuesta: co-dise\u00f1amos una visi\u00f3n. Una visi\u00f3n que conecta la captaci\u00f3n de agua de lluvia con la regeneraci\u00f3n forestal, la equidad de g\u00e9nero con el empleo local y el conocimiento ind\u00edgena con la ciencia clim\u00e1tica. Navegamos din\u00e1micas institucionales, alineamos a actores diversos y tradujimos 15 a\u00f1os de trabajo comunitario en un marco que los financiadores internacionales pudieran reconocer y en el que pudieran confiar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuestro rol contin\u00faa m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la presentaci\u00f3n de la propuesta.
